WHAT IS KMC?

KMC provides a forum for independent musicians around the world to network with music related companies and organizations and showcase their music to the Japanese market.
As a series of not-for-profit events held every year culminating with a music conference in September, KMC brings together globally minded musicians, NPO's, international exchange associations, independent labels and distributors, promoters, booking agents and festival organizers that have a common interest; international communication through music.
Now in its third year, KMC continues to maintain a consistent record of gathering musicians from 5 continents to perform various styles of music in venues around Japan.

BRIDGING CULTURES

Using the common language of music, KMC connects musicians from different cultures, enabling them to collaborate on performances, tours and recording projects. KMC events, panel discussions and workshops are always multi-dimensional with artists from different backgrounds performing together and playing different styles of music from acoustic, gospel and jazz to rock, rap and reggae.

Many musicians in Japan often ask the same question:
"What is a 'music conference?'"
Different industries have trade shows, conventions and exhibitions (electronics’ shows, medical conferences, anime conventions, car shows, food exhibitions, etc.) A “music conference” is an exhibition for the music industry; an opportunity for parts of the music industry to showcase the next generation of music and music related technology to the rest of the industry and to the general public.
With an ever increasing support base of organizations worldwide, KMC is the music industry event in Japan, drawing key industry professionals from around the world.
Having already affected a change in the Japanese music scene with the recent development of other international events with similar themes, KMC is leading the way for indie musicians in Japan.
