Singer-songwriter, guitarist, YouTuber, author and university professor with a doctorate degree in music, Dr. Capital lives in Osaka, Japan and performs internationally. In addition to his current original albums as a solo artist, Dr. Capital was formerly lead singer and guitarist of Brazilian jazz group Bossa Zuzu, produced by Peter Erskine, and was a member of Japanese MC Shing02's band, where he collaborated with hip-hop legend Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and performed at Japan's Fuji Rock Festival.
Dr. Capital frequently appears on Japanese TV shows as a performer and expert commentator on J-POP music, and brings J-POP hits to a global audience through his popular YouTube channel. His latest book "The Rhythm Secrets of Hit Songs" (Hitto Kyoku No Rizumu No Himitsu) was published by Shueisha in August, 2022 and is currently a best-seller Japan-wide. In his US-based projects, his playing is featured on recordings along with legends like Brad Mehldau, Daniel Lanois and Peter Erskine. In Japan, Capital has collaborated in the studio and onstage with multi-platinum J-POP superstars such as Angela Aki and Ayaka.

パーソナリティを務めながら、北陸を拠点にDJ・エレクトロやヒップホップ系のミュージシャンと数多く共演。エレクトロニカ・ギタリスト"Capital"としてShing02 Terracotta Troupeのメンバーとして、またケン・イシイ、DJ Nozawa、DJ Akakabe、DJ $hin、Del Tha Funkee Homosapien、Cosinerのレコーディングにも参加。現在まで25枚以上のシングル、アルバム作品をリリース。
ロック、ブラジル音楽をベースに歌謡曲を融合し、"Dr. CapitalのJ-POP"という新たなスタイルを追求し、”Dr. CapitalのJ-POPカバー講座” をYouTubeにて配信をスタート。いわゆる、YouTuberとしても存在感を高め、TV番組「ミュージックステーション」 「YOUは何しに日本へ」「関ジャム完全燃SHOW」への出演など各メディアでも取り上げられ、外国人から見たJ-POPの素晴らしさを多くの人達に伝えている。
